Question 252053
One method of doing this is to find the distance of a perpendicular line that runs between the 2 lines. Any line with a slope of -2/3 will be perpendicular to the 2 lines. You can then find where the perpendicular line intersects each other line by setting the perpendicular line equal to the given lines. When you get x=???, then you will use that point and plug it into your formula to find the corresponding y value. Do this with each set of equations. Now you have 2 coordinates that are produced by the intersection of the perpendicular line that transverses the two parallel lines. Use the distance formula to calculate the distance between the two points.
