Question 4124
There is a way that "non-math" types prefer, but I can't remember it. Maybe someone else will contribute that method. I prefer to just set up an equation, where x is the unknown number, and solve for x.

First, "50%" means .50, "what #" means x, and "is" means equals.

The equation reads:

{{{.50x = 30 }}}

To solve for x, just divide both sides by .50

{{{.50x/.50 = 30/.50 }}}

Use a calculator, or multiply numerator and denominator by 10 to get 300/5.

{{{ x = 60 }}}
