<font face="Garamond" size="+2">

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ y\ =\ 1]

is another way of saying "the set of all ordered pairs *[tex \Large \left(x,1\right)]"

In other words, the set of ordered pairs where *[tex \Large x] is replaced by all real numbers one at a time, and *[tex \Large y] is always 1.

If you still can't see it, pick a value, any value, for *[tex \Large x]. Substitute that value into *[tex \Large \left(x,1\right)]. Plot the point. Do it one more time with a different value for *[tex \Large x]. Draw a line through both points.
