Question 241952
When we multiply or divide a negative number on both sides of an inequality, the inequality symbol changes direction.
In order to simplify this inequality, we will need to divide by negative 2 on both sides to determine the result.
{{{-2x>1/9}}}
Notice I'll change the inequality symbol in the next step.
{{{(-2x/-2)<(1/9)/(-2)}}}
Dividing a fraction by an integer or another fraction is the same as multiplying the fraction by the reciprocal of the other term.
So: {{{(-2x/-2)<(1/9)/(-2)}}} = {{{(-2x/-2)<(1/9)(1/-2)}}}
{{{x<-((1*1)/(9*2))}}}
{{{x<-(1/18)}}}
.
Done!
