Question 240891
I cannot seem to figure out how this expression was simplified. Could someone show me how it was done?
x^2+4x+3=x^2+6x+8 simplified = -2x=5 which the solution is -5/2 I need to know how this was done
-------------------------
x^2+4x+3=x^2+6x+8
---
Subtract x^2 from both sides:
4x+3 = 6x+8
Subtract 4x from both sides:
3 = 2x + 8
Subtract 8 from both sides:
2x = -5
Divide both sides by 2 to get:
x = -5/2
