Question 234625
a container is full of oil and has a square base of side 0.6m and a height of 0.275m.
cylinders have a radius of 5cm and height of 18 these are filled from the container.
calculate the volume of the container and cylinder and the number of cans which can be filled
:
Find the volume of the container with the square base
.6*.6*.275 = .099 cu/meters
:
Find the volume of the cylinder
V = {{{pi*r^2*h}}}
V = {{{pi*5^2*18}}}
V = 1,413.7167 cu/cm
:
Change .099 cu/m to cu/cm: .099 * 100^3 = 99,000 cu/cm
:
Find the number of cylinders can be filled from this
{{{99000/1413.7167}}} ~ 70 cans can be filled
:
Response to comment, I can't see anything wrong with this. C
