A piece of sheet metal is 2.1 times as long as it is wide. It is to be made into a box with an open top by cutting 3-inch squares from each corner and folding up the sides. 
I just do not know what to do with the volume. I get this far, but cannot go any further. 
V=3(x-6)(2.1x-6)

V = 3[2.1x^2 -6x-12.6x+36)
V = 3(2.1x^2 -18.6x + 36)
V = 6.3x^2 - 55.8x + 108
