Question 229579
Solve and check your answer

{{{2x+6/5=x+4/3}}}

Step 1. Multiply by 15 to get rid of denominators.

{{{15*2x+15*6/5=15*x+15*4/3}}}

{{{30x+18=15x+20}}}

Step 2. Subtract 15x from both sides of the equation

{{{30x+18-15x=cross(15x)+20-cross(15x)}}}

{{{15x+90=20}}}

Step 3. Subtract 18 from both sides of the equation

{{{15x+cross(18)-cross(18)=20-18}}}

{{{15x=2}}}

Step 4. Divide by 15 to both sides of the equatioin

{{{cross(15)x/cross(15)=2/15}}}

{{{x=2/15}}}

Step 5.  To check solution, substitute {{{x=2/15}}} into original equation  {{{2x+6/5=x+4/3}}}

{{{2(2/15)+6/5=2/15+4/3}}}

{{{4/15+18/15=2/15+20/15}}}

{{{22/15=22/15}}} which is a true statement

Step 6.  ANSWER:  The solution is {{{x=2/15}}}

I hope the above steps were helpful.
