Question 228670
The left side of the equation is a perfect square:
{{{(x+5)^2= 8}}}

Take the square root of each side:
{{{x+5= 0+-sqrt(8)}}}

Subtract 5 from each side:
{{{x=-5+-sqrt(8)}}}
{{{x=-5+2*sqrt(2)}}} or {{{x=-5-2*sqrt(2)}}}

I don't think ANY of your choices are correct!!
