Question 227373
What is 26=6(5-a)?

Step 1. Given {{{26=6(5-a)}}}, multiply to get rid of the parenthesis

{{{26=30-6a}}}

Step 2. Add 6a-26 to both sides of the equation

{{{26+6a-26=30-6a+6a-26}}}

{{{6a=4}}}

Step 3. Divide by 6 to both sides of the equation

{{{6a/6=4/6}}}

{{{a=2/3}}}

Step 4.  Substitute the solution {{{a=2/3}}} into equation  {{{26=30-6a}}}

{{{26=30-6*2/3}}}

{{{26=30-4}}}

{{{26=26}}}

Step 5.  ANSWER:  The solution is {{{a=2/3}}}

I hope the above steps were helpful.
