Question 226646
What is the measure of an angle is 28 degree more than the complement. find the measure of each angle.

Step 1. Let x be angle.

Step 2. Let 90-x be the complement of its angle.

Step 3. Then, x=90-x+28 since the measure of an angle is 28 degrees more than the complement.

Step 4. Solving equation in Step 3 yields the following steps

{{{x=62-x}}}

Add x to both sides of the equation

{{{x+x=62-x+x}}}

{{{2x=62}}}

Divide by 2 to both sides of the equation

{{{2x/2=62/2}}}

{{{x=31}}} Then {{{x+28=59}}}. Note the sum is 90 degrees.

Step 5. ANSWER: The angles are 31 and 59 degrees.

I hope the above steps were helpful.
