Question 225825
{{{8x+5=3x+35}}}

Step 1. Subtract 3x from both sides of the equation to isolate numbers on one side and variables on the other side

{{{8x+5-3x=3x+35-3x}}}

{{{5x+5=35}}}

Step 2. Subtract 5 from both of the equation to isolate the x-terms.

{{{5x+5-5=35-5}}}

{{{5x=30}}}

Step 3. Divide by 5 to both side of the equation to get x

{{{5x/5=30/5}}}

{{{x=6}}}

Step 4. Check with original equation {{{8x+5=3x+35}}} for a true statement.

{{{8*6+5=3*6+35}}}

{{{48+5=18+35}}}

{{{53=53}}} which is a true statement

Step 5. ANSWER: Solution is {{{x=6}}}.

I hope the above steps were helpful.
