Question 225479
can you help me please. 6=3+5(d-2)

this is what i tried. 6=3+5(d-2)
                       6=3+5d-10 good
                       6=-7+5d  good

Step 1. Now add 7 to both sides of the equation and to isolate d on the right side.

{{{6+7=-7+5d+7}}}

{{{13=5d}}}

Step 2. Divide by 5 to both sides of the equation to get d

{{{13/5=5d/5}}}

{{{13/5=d}}}

Step 3. Check solution with original equation

{{{6=3+5(d-2)=3+5(13/5-2)=3+5(13-10)/5}}} or {{{6=6}}} which is a true statement.

Step 4.  ANSWER:  {{{d=13/5}}}

I hope the above steps and explanation were helpful.
