Question 224874
steps to solve

{{{3y-2(y+19) = 9y-3(9-y)}}}

Step 1. Multiply out the terms to get rid of the parenthesis.

{{{3y-2(y+19) = 9y-3(9-y)}}}

{{{3y-2y-38=9y-27+3y}}}

Step 2. Combine like terms to simplify

{{{y-38=12y-27}}}

Step 3. Now isolate y on the right side and numbers on the left. Here are the steps.

Add -y to both sides of the equation

{{{y-38+(-y)=12y-27+(-y)}}}

{{{-38=11y-27}}}

Add 27 to both sides of the equation

{{{-38+27=11y-27+27}}}

{{{-11=11y}}}

Divide by y to both sides of the equation

{{{-11/11=11y/11}}}

{{{-11/11=y}}}

{{{-1=y}}}

Step 4.  ANSWER:  Solution is {{{y=-1}}}

I hope the above steps were helpful.
