Question 224745
Write a quadratic function having the given solutions: -5, 3

Step 1. Since they are solutions given as x=-5 and x-3, then

Adding 5 to both sides of the equation x=-5

{{{x+5=-5+5}}}

{{{x+5=0}}}

Add 3 to both sides of the equation x=-3

{{{x+3=-3=3}}}

{{{x+3=0}}}

Step 2. Now, multiply {{{(x+5)(x+3)=0}}} using the FOIL method.

{{{(x+5)(x+3)=x^2+3x+5x+3*5=0}}}

{{{(x+5)(x+3)=x^2+8x+15=0}}}

Step 3.  ANSWER:  The quadratic equation is {{{x^2+8x+15=0}}}

I hope the above steps were helpful.
