Question 224628
Solve the equation by first clearing the decimals

2.3x+9.2=23

Step 1. To clear the decimals multiply by 10 to both sides of the equation.

{{{10*2.3x+10*9.2=10*23}}}

{{{23x+92=230}}}

Step 2. Subtract 92 from both sides of the equation

{{{23x+92-92=230-92}}}

{{{23x=138}}}

Step 3. Divide by 23 to both sides of the equation

{{{23x/23=138/23}}}

{{{x=6}}

Step 4.  Solution is {{{x=6}}}

I hope the above steps and explanation were helpful.
