Question 224568
The area of a triangle is 42cm squared. If one base is 12cm, what is the height relative to that base?

Step 1. Area A of a triangle is given as {{{A=bh/2}}} where b is the base and h is the height.

Step 2.  Then {{{A=42=12h/2}}}.

Step 3. Solving for h yields the following steps

Divide by 6 to both sides of the equation

{{{42=6h}}}

{{{42/6=6h/6}}}

{{{h=7}}}

Step 4. ANSWER: The height is 7 cm.

I hope the above steps were helpful.
