Question 224036
{{{x=-2y}}}  Equation 1
{{{x=2-4y}}} Equation 2

Step 1. Substitute Equation 1 into Equation 2.

{{{-2y=2-4y}}}

Step 2. Add 4y to both sides of the equation

{{{-2y+4y=2-4y+4y}}}

{{{2y=2}}}

Step 3. Divide by 2 to both sides of the equation.

{{{2y/2=2/2}}}

{{{y=1}}}  and {{{x=-2y=-2}}}

Step 4. ANSWER: The solution is x=-2 and y=1 or point (-2,1)

I hope the above steps and explanation were helpful.
