Question 222796
How do you add and subtract the variables like: 5x-7(2-4x)

Multiply out the terms to get rid of the parenthesis and collect like terms (in this example x).

{{{5x-7(2-4x)= 5x-7*2+(-7)*(-4)x= 5x-14+28x=5x+28x-14=(28+5)x-14=33x-14}}}

ANSWER:  5x-7(2-4x)=33x-14

I hope the above steps were helpful.
