Question 222629
The sum of a number and two is three more than twice the same number.

Step 1. Let n be the number.

Step 2. Let n+2 be the sum of the number and two.

Step 3. Let 2n+3 be twice the same number plus three more.

Step 4. Then n+2=2n+3 since the sum of a number and two is three more than twice the same number.

Step 5. Solving equation in Step 4 yields the following steps.

{{{n+2=2n+3}}}

Subtract n+3 from both sides the equations

{{{n+2-n-3=2n+3-n-3}}}

{{{-1=n}}}

Check...n+2=2n+3 or -1+2=2*(-1)+3 is a true statement.

Step 6. ANSWER: The number is -1.

I hope the above steps were helpful.
