Do you mean {{{2/(3x+4) = 1/(3x+6)}}}?  If so, remember that 
{{{a/b=c/d}}} means that {{{ad=bc}}}.  Likewise,
{{{2/(3x+4)=1/(3x+6)}}} means that {{{2(3x+6)= 1(3x+4)}}}


6x+12=3x+4
3x= -8
x=-8/3


The check is so ugly because of the fraction, that it might be easier to just solve the problem again!
