Question 222052

"one or more than the product of seven and the width"? That has to be a typo -- I think you must mean "one more than the product of seven and the width"

Let *[tex \Large w] represent the width. The product of seven and the width is then *[tex \Large 7w]. One more than that is *[tex \Large 7w + 1]. The area is the length times the width, so:

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ A_r\ =\ (7w+1)w\ =\ 7w^2 + w]
