Question 3747
strictly, you cannot divide fractions, but what you can do it turn the second fraction over and then multiply instead:

{{{((y-3)^2/(8)) * ((64)/(8y-24))}}}
{{{((y-3)^2/(8)) * ((64)/8(y-3))}}}
{{{(64(y-3)^2/64(y-3))}}}

the 64's and the y-3 cancel themselves (NOTE: if this was all equal to something, I would not cancel the y-3 terms, as that would lose you some information and hence a possible solution. But here, we are just simplyfying the big fraction. We get (y-3) as the final solution.
