Question 217836
What is the greatest common factor of the terms {{{14c^2d}}} and {{{42c^3d}}}?

Step 1. Look at the numbers 14 and 42. The common factor is 14 since 3*2*7=42 and 2*7=14.

Step 2. Look at the c terms {{{c^2}}} and {{{c^3}}}. The common factor is {{{c^2}}} since {{{c^2=c*c}}} and {{{c^3=c*c*c}}}.

Step 3. Look at the d terms and the common factor is d.

Step 4. Based on Steps 1, 2, and 3, the greatest common factor is {{{14c^2d}}}.

Step 5.  ANSWER is {{{14c^2d}}}

I hope the above steps were helpful.
