Question 216557
Solve each equation or inequality

{{{p -2/3=5/6}}}

Step 1. Multiply by 6 to get rid of denominators.

{{{6p-6*2/3=6*5/6}}}

{{{6p-4=5}}}

Step 2. Add 4 to both sides of the equation

{{{6p-4+4=5+4}}}

{{{6p=9}}}

Step 3. Divide 6 to both sides of the equation

{{{6p/6=9/6=3/2}}}

{{{p=3/2}}}

Check...{{{p-2/3=3/2-2/3=(9-4)/6=5/6}}}...which is a true statement.

Step 4.  ANSWER:  {{{p=3/2}}}

I hope the above steps were helpful.
