Step 1.  Form two columns:  one for x and one for y.  Try different values of x say -5, -4, -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.  Substitute x into the equation for y. For example when x=0, then y=0^2+4=4.  So one point on the graph is (0,4) and see graph in Step 2.  Try the other values of x.

Step 2. Here's the graph:
