Question 215765
Is 7x-6(y+x)=4 a Linear Equation? If so, put it in standard form.

The above equation is linear.

Step 1. To put in standard form given as Ax+By=C where A, B, and C are constants.

Step 2.  Multiply to get rid of parenthesis:  {{{7x-6(y+x)=4}}} or {{{7x-6y-6x=4}}}

Step 3.  Collect like terms 7x-6x=x:  {{{x-6y=4}}}

Step 4. ANSWER The equation in standard form is {{{x-6y=4}}} where A=1, B=-6 and C=4.

I hope the above steps were helpful.
