Question 215219
Find the equation of the line with the given slope and containing the given point.

Slope -9/10; through (-9,0) Must be in slope-intercept form.

Step 1. The slope intercept form is given a y=mx+b where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept at point (0,b).

Step 2.  Let {{{m=-9/10}}}

{{{y=-9x/10+b}}}

Step 3. To find b, let x=-9 and y=0 since the point (-9,0) lies on the line.

{{{0=-9*(-9)/10+b}}}

{{{0=81/10+b}}}

{{{b=-81/10}}}

Step 4.  ANSWER.  The equation is {{{y=-9x/10-81/10}}}

I hope the above steps were helpful.
