Question 214785
{{{(x+6)^(1/2)=(x-9)}}}

Step 1. Square both sides of the equation

{{{((x+6)^(1/2))^2=(x-9)^2}}}

{{{x+6=x^2-18x+81}}}

Step 2. Subtract x+6 from both sides of the equation to get a quadratic one.

{{{x+6-(x+6)=x^2-18x+81-(x+6)}}}

{{{0=x^2-19x+75}}}

Step 3. We can use the quadratic formula to solve this given as

{{{x = (-b +- sqrt( b^2-4*a*c ))/(2*a) }}}

where a=1, b=-19 and c=75

*[invoke quadratic "x", 1, -19, 75 ]

I hope the above steps were helpful.
