Question 214712
Use the intercepts to graph the equation 4x-2y=8 please help me solve and graph

Step 1. For this example, y-intercept is when x=0 and

{{{4*0-2y=8}}}

{{{-2y=8}}}

{{{-2y/2=8/2}}}

{{{y=-4}}} So one point is (0,-4).

Step 2. For this example, x-intercept is when y=0 and

{{{4x-2*y=8}}}

{{{4x=8}}}

{{{4x/4=8/4}}}

{{{x=2}}} So the other point is (2,0).

The following will graph the equation using the two points:

{{{graph(300,300, -5, 5,-5,5, 2x-4)}}}

Note the x-intercept at point (2,0) and y-intercept at point (0,-4)

I hope the above steps were helpful.
