Graph the equation 6x+2y=30 by finding the intercepts.


Step 1.  It takes two point to graph a line.  Consider first point (0,b)  which is the y-intercept.  So at x=0 then 6*0+2=30 or y=15=b.  So one point is (0,15)


Step 2.  Consider the point (a,0) or the x-intercept point.  Then 6x+2*0=30=a or x=5.  So the other point is (5,0).


Step 3.  Using the points (0,15) and (5,0) we have the following graph:
