Question 214235
<font face="Garamond" size="+2">

First thing you have to know is how many weeks you kept the car. Presuming the question really is, "how many miles can you drive in one week," then you would proceed thus:

If your total charge at the end of the week is $335, then $125 of that amount is the per week charge and the rest, $335 - $125 = $210. $210 then represents the amount of money you paid in mileage charges during that week. If every mile costs $0.20, then $210/0.20 = 5 * 210 = 1050 is the number of miles you could drive.

On the other hand, if you kept the car for 2 weeks, then the base charge would be $250 and the mileage charge would be 335 - 250 = 85 and the number of miles would be 85 * 5 = 425.

If you kept the car for 3 weeks, the base charge would be $375, more than the total bill, so 3 weeks is not possible.
