Question 213467
A pitcher can throw a baseball 95 miles per hour. The ball travels at that speed for 56 feet, until it arrives at the batter. How many seconds, correct to the nearest thousandth of a second, does the batter have from the moment the ball is thrown, until it arrives

Step 1.  {{{Time = Distance/Speed}}}

Step 2.  Time = 95 mph/56 feet * (5280 feet/mile) (1 hour/3600 seconds) = 2.488 seconds = 2.5 seconds.

where 1 mile = 5280 feet, 1 hour = 60 minutes = 3600 seconds

Step 3. Answer is 2.5 seconds.

I hope the above steps were helpful.
