Do you mean {{{f(x)= (x^2-1)^-1 }}}?


If so, then write it this way:  {{{f(x) = 1/(x^2 -1) }}}.


Denominators must NEVER equal zero!  In this case, {{{x^2 - 1 }}} must NOT equal zero!, so x cannot equal 1 or -1.


Domaim:  all values of x except 1 and -1.
