Question 212831
What shortcut can you use to multiply by 10,100,1000, etc. (by powers of 10)?

Step 1. Count the number of zeros in 10, 100, 1000, etc.

Step 2. Add a the same # of zeros to the number you are multiplying.

For example,

{{{10*5= 50}}} added 1 zero to 5

{{{100*5 = 500}}} added 2 zeros to 5

{{{100*50 = 5000}}} added 2 zeros to 50

{{{1000*5 =5000}}} added 3 zeros to 5

{{{1000*50 = 50000}}} added 3 zeros to 50

I hope the above steps were helpful.
