Step 1.  To solve for y add y to both sides of the equation

{{{5x=7+y}}}


Step 2.  To isolate y, add -7 to both sides of the equation


{{{5x-7=7+y-7}}}


{{{y=5x-7}}}


Step 3.  Answer is y=5x-7
