Question 212671
What is the volume in liters of a rectangular tank which measures 2.0m by 50cm by 200mm?

Step 1.  We note that  1000 cm^3 = 1 liter, 1 m = 100 cm  and 1 cm = 10 mm

Step 2   Let V=Volume = 2 m x 50 cm x 200 mm

Step 3. Do conversions in cm

{{{V= (2m*100cm/1m)(50 cm)(200mm*1cm/10mm)}}}

{{{V= (200cm)(50cm)(20cm)}}}

{{{V=200000cm^3}}}

Step 3. Now convert from cm^3 to liters

{{{V=200000cm^3(1 liter/1000cm^3)}}}

{{{V=200}}} liters

Step 4. Volume is 200 liters.

I hope the above steps were helpful.

Good luck in your studies!

Dr J
