Question 212444
Q.16  solve:C=a(b+d) for d.

Step 1. Multiply out right side of equation.

{{{C=ab+ad}}}

Step 2. Subtract ab from both sides of equations to isolate ad.

{{{C-ab=ab+ad-ab}}}

{{{C-ab=ad}}}

Step 3. Divide by a in both sides of last equation of Step 2 to get d.

{{{(C-ad)/a=da/a}}}

Step 4.  Answer

{{{d=(C-ad)/a}}}

Hope the steps were helpful. Good luck in your studies!
