Question 209904
 take a object and get its volume and surface area. I chose a mini Kit Kat bar.
 The lenghth is 8cm, width is 1cm, and height is 3cm.
The volume I got was 24, the surface area was 70.
:
That seems right:
:
I have to enlarge this object surface area and volume by a 1:6 ratio
:
Surface area enlarged 1:6
Let x = enlarged surface area
{{{70/x}}} = {{{1/6}}}
x = 70*6
x = 420 sq/cm
:
Volume enlarged 1:6
{{{24/x}}} = {{{1/6}}}
x = 24*6
x = 144 cu/cm
;
If you need to find the dimensions of the enlarged object:
multiply each of the original dimensions by cube root of 6 for the increased volume
and
multiply each of the original dimensions by the {{{sqrt(6)}}} to get the increased surface area
