Question 206546
No they are not. Linear equations are simply equations that can be placed in the form {{{Ax+By=C}}} while linear functions are equations that fit the form {{{y=mx+b}}} or {{{f(x)=mx+b}}}. Both have a linear form, but a function is specific in that it must pass the vertical line test.

Example: {{{x=2}}} is a linear equation but it is NOT a function (it fails the vertical line test)
