Question 205915
Worker efficiency. In a study of worker efficiency at Wong Laboratories it was found that the number of components assembled per hour by the average worker (t) hours after starting work could be modeled by the formula N(t)=-3t^3+23t^2+8t. Factor the right side of the equation and find N(3). I am completely lost. Please help.
<pre><font size = 4 color = "indigo"><b>
{{{N(t)=-3t^3+23t^2+8t}}}

Factor out out {{{-t}}}:

{{{N(t)=-t(3t^2-23t-8)}}}

Factor the expression in parentheses:

{{{N(t)=-t(3t+1)(t-8)}}}

Now substitute 3 for all t's:

{{{N(3)=-3(3*3+1)(3-8)}}}
{{{N(3)=-3(9+1)(-5)}}}
{{{N(t)=-3(10)(-5)}}}
{{{N(t)=150}}}
