Question 204340
If the degree measure of the smallest angle of a triangle is
one-half of the degree measure of the second largest angle
and one-third of the degree measure of the largest angle,
then what is the degree measure of each angle?
-------------------------------------------------
Let the largest angle measure be "x"
-----
2nd largest measure is (1/3)x
-----
Smallest measure is (1/2)((1/3)x) = (1/6)x
-----------------------------------------------
Equation:
x + (1/3)x + (1/6)x = 180
Multiply thru by 6 to get:
6x + 2x + x = 6*180
9x = 6*180
x = 6*20
x = 120 degrees
(1/3)x = 40 degrees
(1/6)x = 20 degrees
