Question 202849
Since calculators do not usually have base 5 logarithms programmed into them, we need to convert this logarithm to a base calculators usually have: base 10 logs or natural logs. To convert bases of logarithms we have a formula: {{{log(a, (x)) = log(b, (x))/log(b, (a))}}} which we can use to convert from base a to base b.<br>
Using this formula to convert our base 5 log to base 10:
{{{log(5, (60)) = (log((60)))/(log((5)))}}}<br>Now we can get these base 10 logs from our calculator:
{{{log(5, (60)) = (log((60)))/(log((5))) = (1.7781512503836436)/(0.6989700043360188) = 2.5439593106327714}}}
