Question 202230
<font face="Garamond" size="+2">

You probably can't enter it directly. The way to do it on most calculators is use the base conversion formula.

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \log_b(x) = \frac{\log_c(x)}{\log_c(b)} = \frac{\ln(x)}{\ln(b)}]

So

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \sqrt{\log_7(27)} = \sqrt{\frac{\ln(27)}{\ln(7)}}]

And that you can plug into your calculator

27 ln / 7 ln = sqrt

(if you are using the Windows calculator, check inverse and then use the x^2 button for square root)

John
*[tex \LARGE e^{i\pi} + 1 = 0]
