The portion of y=x+2 below x=-2 is mirrored in the x-axis, creating a V-shaped graph. Algebraically, you are plotting y=-(x+2).


I think you mean restrict the domain of f(x) so that it DOES have an inverse.


Domain could be all values of x, so long as x>=-2. Or the domain could be all values of x, so long as x<= -2.


Either set of x-values is a valid domain for the function.
