Question 201725

Let's start with an understanding of the meaning of the various parts of the notation. *[tex \Large f] is the function, whereas *[tex \Large f(x)] is the value of the function at *[tex \Large x]. That means anytime you see f(something), it means the value of the function at that something. In other words, you simply replace *[tex \Large x] in the definition of *[tex \Large f(x)] with the something in f(something). So:

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ f(2x)\ =\ 3(2x)^2 - (2x) + 4\ =\ 12x^2 - 2x + 4]

Do the other two problems the same way.
