Question 27855
The slope is the ratio of rise to run. Rise is the change in y, run is the change in x. In math {{{(y1-y2)/(x1-x2)}}} So if your two points are (4, -3) and (-2, 1) then the slope will be: {{{(-3-1)/(4-(-2))=-4/6=-2/3}}}

The midpoint is found by the midpoint formula, where the average of the x values is the x value of the midpoint and the average of the ys is the y midpoint. In other words {{{xmid=(x1+x2)/2}}} {{{ymid=(y1+y2)/2}}} So if you wanted to find the midpoint of 4,-3 and -2,1 you would take the average of 4 & -2 {{{(4+(-2))/2=1}}} and the average of -3 and 1 {{{(-3+1)/2=-1}}} So the midpoint would be (1,-1).
