Question 198729
<font face="Garamond" size="+2">

The diagonal of a square is the hypotenuse of an isosceles right triangle. So,

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ 12^2 = x^2 + x^2 = 2x^2]

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ x^2 = 72]

*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ x = \sqrt{72} = \sqrt{36\cdot2}=6\sqrt{2}]

Which gives you one side. Since it is a square, multiply by 4 to get the perimeter.
