The area of a rectangle is the length times the width, so:

Expand the binomials, collect like terms on the left so the quadratic is in standard form, and solve like any other quadratic equation.  (Hint:  It factors) You will get two roots, as is typical, but one of them will be negative.  Since a negative value for a measure of length is absurd, exclude that extraneous root.  The desired value will be the positive root.
