Question 27136
Hi,

I already explained how to do this in another question.

http://www.algebra.com/algebra/homework/Polynomials-and-rational-expressions/Polynomials-and-rational-expressions.faq.question.24417.html

Read that first, to give you the idea, then see if this makes sense.

{{{e-4}}} goes into {{{e^2}}} {{{e}}} times. with remainder {{{3e -12}}}.

{{{e-4}}} goes into {{{3e-12}}} {{{3}}} times with remainder {{{0}}}. So {{{(e^2-e-12)/(e-4)=(e+3)}}}

Hope that helps,

Kev
